In 1986 the Piemontese Foundation for Cancer Research was established. The Foundation was established to make a significant contribution to defeating cancer through the creation of an oncology center in Piedmont, capable of combining scientific research with clinical practice and providing patients with the best human and technological resources available.
After years of fundraising to start the project of a medical and scientific center of excellence, the Candiolo institute is operational and welcomes people from all over Europe.
